DETAILS

Very little happens here, and that is the point: a slab, a stem that leans, and a foot lying on the floor like a stone worn smooth by water. Handcrafted from Natural Solid Wood, the upright carries a shallow S in profile and meets the top well off centre, so the slab reaches far out in one direction only.

Product Highlights

  • Material — handcrafted from Natural Solid Wood, ridged growth lines left standing proud of the surface.
  • One leaning upright — a single carved stem rises, leans through the vertical and turns outward at the head.
  • Flat plinth — a wide slab of a foot lies flush on the floor, its outline gently irregular.
  • Single curved void — one continuous gap between slab, upright and plinth reads as an open C from the end.
  • Offset stance — the long overhang leaves floor free at one end for a bag or a pair of shoes.
  • Hand-dressed edge — the top has a faint living waver rather than a machined dead-straight line.
  • Flat matte surface — no shine anywhere, so the piece reads as mass and shadow.

Design & Craftsmanship

The whole difficulty sits in two transitions: where the stem leaves the plinth, and where it arrives beneath the slab. Both must look grown rather than joined, so the flare is worked in stages: a curve slightly too tight at the ankle turns the piece awkward. Texture is treated as material, not defect: the surface is brought back until harder growth lines stand above the softer wood, giving a weathered face that catches raking light. The slab is finished more evenly, one quiet plane above the movement.

Placement & Use

Its narrow depth suits rooms that are already pared back — an entry asked for nothing but keys, a hallway where it reads as a shadow along a pale wall, or a spot beneath large artwork. Behind a sofa the open base keeps the room continuous.

Care & Customization

Dust often with a soft dry cloth or brush, since ridged surfaces hold dust readily, and never soak the base — a cloth wrung almost dry is enough. Blot spills straight away, keep the piece away from sun and vents, and use coasters and felt pads, as matte surfaces show oils. Bespoke dimensions can often be made.

Shipping & Assembly

Each piece ships disassembled so it can be packed securely and arrive without dents or cracks. Detailed assembly instructions are included, and every joint is cut to fit together precisely.

Good to Know

  • Listing includes the console table only; decorative items shown are not included.
  • Nothing on this design opens: no drawer, no door, no shelf and no metal on show.
  • The base is a sculpted upright on a flat plinth, with no four-point stance.
  • Ridge texture, grain and depth of tone vary between pieces and photograph deeper than in a lit room, so they will differ from the photographs and are not defects.
  • Designed for stable placement on flat indoor surfaces; lift rather than drag, as the plinth will scuff a floor.
  • Covered by a 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, effective from the date of delivery.
  • Production updates available upon request.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Made from solid natural hardwood from top to base - no veneer over particle board - and finished with natural oils and waxes, so grain, colour and texture vary from piece to piece.

Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners. Wipe away standing water immediately, keep the piece away from direct heat and strong sunlight, and use coasters or pads under glasses and heavy objects. Every 6-12 months, apply a wood conditioner or natural wax. On pieces with screws, joints or mortise-and-tenon construction, check and tighten the connections periodically.

Natural Solid Wood Japandi Sculptural Console Table
01

The wood

Solid monkey pod or solid oak, depending on the piece: monkey pod where a wide single slab is wanted, because it grows broad enough to give a top in one board, and oak where a straighter grain suits the design. Solid right through the structure — never particleboard, MDF or a veneered core.

The finish

Walnut, Oak, Brown and Black are tone finishes, not species. Within one product the timber underneath is the same in every option; only the colour of the surface changes. The grain still reads through the tone instead of being painted out.

The fitting

Some pieces travel whole and some in a few parts — we pack whichever way carries the piece more safely. Screws, wall anchors and full fitting instructions are supplied, and tall or wall-mounted pieces fix at both the top and the bottom, so no separate anti-tip strap is needed.

How to choose yours

Which finish?

Walnut, Oak, Brown and Black are colours, not different woods — the timber underneath is the same in all four. Pick the one closest to the wood already in the room, or go a shade darker for contrast. Screens shift colour, so read the photographs as a guide rather than a swatch.

Which size?

Every size is listed in the Size option with its width, depth and height. Measure the space first, then measure the route in — the doorway, the turn in the hall, the stairwell including the handrail — and allow an extra 1 to 1.5 inches for the delivery team's hands.

Still not sure?

Read the two lines below on who this piece suits, then look through the questions further down the page. If it still turns out wrong once it is in the room, you have 30 days to send it back.

Right for you if

you want a landing place for keys and post without losing walking room.

Think twice if

the hallway is the main route for a pram or a wheelchair and every inch counts.

Customer video review of Sculptural Wave Natural Solid Wood TV Stand with Open Base Design

An absolute masterpiece! I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The quality is exceptional, and the attention to detail in person is just stunning. It instantly elevated my space. The grain pattern on the top surface has gorgeous, bold "cathedral" arches that give the piece a ton of organic character. The team was really responsive and walked me through the whole process. Only regret is not getting it longer. 10/10

Customer photo review of Solid Wood Accent Table – Modern Sculptural Tri-Branch Design

I was honestly impressed when this console table arrived. The Natural Solid Wood grain is absolutely stunning and looks even better in person than in the photos. The design feels sculptural and modern but still very warm and natural. It instantly elevated the entryway of my home and became a conversation piece whenever guests visit.

Customer photo review of Solid Wood Accent Table – Modern Sculptural Tri-Branch Design

The product was carefully packaged and we received an instruction video. Despite our best efforts, the seams are still clearly visible. The finish is shinier than usual. Customer service said they would fix these issues. I'm sure the product will look great once fully assembled.

Solid Wood Accent Table – Modern Sculptural Tri-Branch Design

I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. Despite there being no absolutely no information on your website about it arriving in two pieces, that is exactly what happened. The artisan sculpted it in one piece - which I am aware of because I was sent pictures of it in progress - but then for some crazy reason it was cut in half and dovetail grooves were installed to put it back together. The problem is the grooves do not align properly, and the two halves will not fit together. The artisan has been responsive via e-mail and told me to keep trying, but when I did it started to separate along another joint, so I stopped. I then sent the artisan pictures and measurements showing why it won't fit together, and I was told to hire a carpenter to fix it. It appears to me that one (maybe both) of the dovetails need to be cut off and then some other method of attachment used. As it turns out now, the piece is useless to me and is just taking up space in my living room on the floor in two pieces. Please advise on what I should do.

Frequently Asked Questions

forest

What wood is it, and is it solid all the way through?

Solid monkey pod or solid oak, depending on the piece: monkey pod where a wide single slab is wanted, because it grows broad enough to give a top in one board, and oak where a straighter grain suits the design. Either way it is solid wood right through the structure — never particleboard, MDF or a veneered core. The timber is dried before production and sealed with a protective finish.

format_paint

Walnut, Oak, Brown, Black — are those different types of wood?

No. Those are tone finishes, not species. Within one product the timber underneath is the same in every option; only the colour of the surface changes. Choosing a finish is choosing a colour, not a different material.

palette

Will my piece look exactly like the photographs?

It will be the same design, but not an identical twin. Grain, knots, figure and tone vary from board to board because every piece is made from natural solid wood, and screen settings shift colour as well. That variation is the material itself, not a fault — it is what makes each piece one of a kind.

handyman

Does it arrive assembled, and are the fixings included?

Some pieces travel whole and some in a few parts — we pack whichever way carries the piece more safely. Screws, wall anchors and full fitting instructions are supplied. Tall and wall-mounted pieces are fixed at both the top and the bottom, so no separate anti-tip strap is needed. Fit into studs or solid masonry wherever the layout allows, and professional installation is recommended.

scale

How much weight will a shelf or a top hold?

Up to 40 kg, about 88 lb, spread evenly across the surface rather than concentrated in one corner. On a bookcase or a tall cabinet, load the lower shelves first so the weight stays low.

straighten

How do I know it will fit through my door and up my stairs?

Check the dimensions in the Size option above, then measure the narrowest point on the route into the room — the doorway, the turn in the hallway, the stairwell including the handrail. Allow an extra 1 to 1.5 inches for the delivery team's hands.

water_drop

How do I look after it?

Dust with a dry cloth, wipe with a damp one, and skip household cleaners and anything abrasive. Use a coaster or mat under anything hot or wet, lift spills rather than letting them sit, and re-oil the surface about once a year — every six months in a bathroom or a very dry room.
